EDMOND —     Richard Bruce “Dick” Carlsen, 78,  was born April 5, 1935 in Flushing, N.Y. and died July 1, 2013 at his home in Edmond, Okla.

    Dick was a true patriot. He loved his country from a young age and served in the U.S. Navy. You would be hard pressed to find a more honest and good man than Dick. He would literally go out of his way to meet the needs of others.

    Richard had many talents. He loved to sing with his group from the senior center, spend time with his paint brush against a canvas painting beautiful scenes and working on his property. He worked tirelessly to see to it the projects he took on as a residential and commercial painter were completed with perfection.

    Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Alice Erlandson.

    He is survived by his wife and true love, Susan Carlsen.

    A graveside service celebrating his life will be 10 a.m  Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Rose Hill Burial Park under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
