EDMOND —
Susie Meyerson, age 60, of Edmond, Okla., passed away on January 8, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born January 2, 1953 in Norman, Okla. to Robert N. and Lillian (Homra) Naifeh.
Susie graduated from Norman High School in 1971 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma in 1976. Through the years, she was employed in Shawnee, Okla., at High Pointe Hospital, and in Oklahoma City at Skirvin Hotel and Sheraton Hotel. Most recently, she was a dedicated volunteer at Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery in Oklahoma City.
Susie loved her family and delighted in the accomplishments of her niece and nephews. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She found joy in yoga, afternoon walks, volunteer work, lunch dates with her friends, and special times with her family.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Meyerson.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lee Ann and Jim Kuhlman; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Carol Naifeh, all of Edmond; niece Leslie Payne (Jessie) of Tulsa, Okla.; nephews Jonathan Kuhlman (Liz) of Norman, Jason Kuhlman of Austin, Texas, Nick Naifeh, Chuck Naifeh, and Jake Naifeh of Edmond; great-nephew Nicholas Naifeh, great-nieces, Naifeh Kuhlman and Lillian Payne; and many cousins and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Susie’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Avenue, Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Student Mobilization Christian Ministry, P.O. Box 567, Conway, AR, 72033; The Oklahoma Arts Council, 2101 N. Lincoln Boulevard, Suite 640, Oklahoma City, OK, 73105; or the charity of your choice.
