Margaret Luce

EDMOND — Margaret Luce, 96, of Edmond, mother of Jeannie Milligan, passed from this earth September 26, 2013. Margaret Lee Critser was born May 19, 1917, to Harvey A. Critser and Emma Lou Garner Critser in Blackwell, Texas. The family moved to Hollis, Okla. where she completed her education at Hollis High School. She married Frank Luce on August 27, 1939, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage until his death in 2007.

Margaret was a homemaker of the best kind. A talented seamstress, she could make anything from winter coats to doll clothes to wedding dresses. She loved to knit and crochet and made many baby blankets for friends and family, and would gladly teach anyone who wanted to learn. She really enjoyed cooking, excelling in pork roast, chocolate fudge at Christmas time and a delicious dressing she made for the holidays.

Margaret and Frank ran a appliance/tv business, Luce Electric, in Hollis Okla., until their retirement. They were able to take several trips to Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and to Europe. After retirement they moved to Edmond to be near family.

Margaret loved her Lord and was a devoted Christian all her life. She was an avid Bible student and enjoyed Bible classes and was at worship services if the door was open.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters and brothers in law, Mary and Farney Harmon and Lorraine and Drue Davis, and her husband, Frank.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Milligan and son in law Mel Milligan; grandson Todd Milligan and his wife Misty; granddaughter Kari Magee and husband Eddie, along with many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Private graveside will be at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond. A celebration of her life will be 4 p.m. Monday, September 30, at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.

Margaret loved flowers; however if you prefer, a donation in her name may be made to Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care, 501 E 15th St. Edmond, OK, or to a charity of your choice.
