Melvin E. Rupe

EDMOND —     Melvin E. Rupe, 86, of Edmond, Okla., passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. He was a 32nd Mason and honorable US Veteran. A successful rancher and entrepreneur, he retired from the City of Edmond and most recently retired from Hunter Bus Tours with his business partner, Alice Hunter-Smith.

    He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Rupe.

    He is survived by William and Geleeta York; three children,  Larry Rupe, Mickey Rupe and Renee Rupe-Ingram;  four grandchildren, Fred Freeland, Shane Rupe, Heather Kelley and Matthew Rupe, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

    He would want to have his life celebrated. It was a long wonderful life.

    Viewing will be til 8 p.m. Monday, November 11, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 and 8 a.m. til noon Wednesday, November 13.

    Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, 500 SW 104th and Western Ave., Oklahoma City, Okla. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
