Betty L. Wolaver


EDMOND —     Betty L. (McClellan) Wolaver died peacefully with family nearby on February 19, 2014 in Edmond, Okla., after living many years with Alzheimer’s. She was born January 7, 1943 in Enid, Okla., the eldest child of Louis and Doris (Britton) McClellan.

    Betty graduated from Enid High School in 1961 and Phillips University in 1966. Married in 1970 to Harold N. Wolaver, she later established her own business as a seamstress in Edmond. Betty enjoyed volunteer work with her children’s schools, church, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, and other community programs. Wolaver was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, and well-known for her clever sense of humor. Betty will be fondly remembered as a kind, compassionate and loving wife, mother, sibling and friend.

    Preceded in death by her parents, Betty is survived by husband Harold of Edmond, daughter Lorrie of Oklahoma City, son Nicholas of Atlanta, brother Scott McClellan of Dallas, and other family members and friends.

    A memorial celebration of Betty’s life will take place in spring 2014, details pending.
