EDMOND —
Norma Ruth (Aldrich) Bootenhoff, 77, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died July 17, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Her gift to all was her unconditional love for her family and friends.
Norma was born January 4, 1935 in Wells, Minn., to Lloyd and Jesse Aldrich. She was raised in Austin, Minn., where she attended school, met and married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Bootenhoff on August 23, 1953. The family moved several times before her husband’s transfer to Oklahoma City in 1976.
Norma worked in the accounting field most of her life before retiring in 1998 from their company business, Rain Guard, Inc., where she worked with three of her sons for 16 years. She loved to travel, read, work crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, and attend her Bible Study.
Norma is survived by her loving husband Gene of 59 years, four sons and daughters-in-law: Craig and Margie of Dillon, Colo., David and Marlene of Jenks, Okla., Denis and Bonnie of Edmond, Okla.; and Timothy, also of Jenks; one brother Jim Aldrich and sister-in-law Marlene of Oro Valley, Ariz., brother-in-law Jesse and wife Jerry of Rosharon, Texas; six grandchildren, Matthew and wife Anna, Brittany and husband Jody, Slater, Jason, Sarah, and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews.
Norma’s greatest joys were to spend time with her family and friends and serve the Lord through her church. She will be greatly missed and remembered always.
A private service for the family will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m., July 23, 2012 in the chapel at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73134.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Shepherds of Love, P.O. Box 5043, Edmond, OK 73083 or to Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, OK. 73134.
