EDMOND —
On Sunday, October 21, 2012, Earl Louis Yentz, 82, was called to join his Savior and his wife of 51 years into eternal peace. Earl was born September 12, 1930 in Britton, Okla., to Clara and Louie Yentz. He served as an engineer in the Korean War on the USS Rowen during his four-year tour in the U.S. Navy.
In the early 1960’s he built their family home in Edmond, in which they lived out the remainder of their lives. Earl was a proud father of three children and devoted his time to his family. His love of traveling took him to various parts of the world, often on motorcycles, or their motor home. Nascar was one of his passions that occupied most of his Sundays. He will be remembered by most friends and family as a jack of all trades as they often called upon him to fix anything from cars to appliances, and he was always happy and willing to lend a helping hand.
His family knew if they could not find him in his chair, he was most definitely working on something in his garage. Throughout the years his kids and later on grandkids, love to help him on whatever project he was working on at the time. From a young age he was raised with a strong work ethic and he worked very hard to provide for his family. Earl was willing to give any one of them the shirt off his back plus some.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ruth Hutchinson and Thelma Yentz; wife Pauline Yentz, and daughter Glenda Howard.
He is survived by his sister Frances Coleman, of Oklahoma City; daughter Karen Sudano of Edmond; son and daughter-in law, Randall and Rynda Yentz of Bethany, Okla.; grandchildren Brett Howard of Edmond, Dawnita and Tony Kennedy of Ardmore, Okla.; Amber Yentz-Norris of the home; Kristopher Wishon, Randi Kaye, Josh Huffman, Devin Howard all of Edmond; Blaine Claunch, Brooks Claunch and Billy Feaster all of Bethany; Jere Snyder of Sikeston, Mo.; Bradley Lee, Brittani Lee both of Edmond; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He left this life in the home that he built surrounded by his family and was proud of the legacy he was leaving behind. His foundation has made a strong, faithful, family filled with love.
Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 25 at Matthews Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 26, at Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, OK.
