EDMOND —
Mr. Thydelro Lee Anderson Sr., 58, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Wichita, passed away August 10 2012 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was a member of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, and was employed with the Department of Defense at Tinker Air Force Base, and was a part-time substitute instructor at Francis Tuttle Technology. He graduated from Pratt College in Kansas with an Associate’s degree in Psychology, and was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He attended Wichita State University where he majored in pre-law.
Mr. Anderson worked at various military bases in California, Virginia, and Oklahoma. He was a State of California Licensed CL-33 Painting Contractor and was sole owner and proprietor of Anderson’s Painting and Decorating in California. An exceptionally skilled painter, Mr. Anderson was contracted in California to paint historical missions, ocean front homes, and commercial buildings in Pebble Beach, Carmel, Monterey, and Pacific Grove. He has painted more than 10,000 buildings in his tenure as a licensed contractor. He loved his craft, and his passion for it was evident in the building and homes he completed.
His hobbies included fishing, cooking, playing board games, collecting movies, and traveling. His favorite place to visit was British Columbia, Canada, with his wife and children. He loved and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed singing, and served as song leader for decades at Churches of Christ.
Left to mourn him is his wife of 37 years, Lucille (Barbara) Anderson, who he first met at South High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1972. Also left to mourn his passing are his five children, Thydelro Lee Anderson Jr., La’Marr V. Anderson, Nicole Williams Browning (David), Tiffany D. Superville (Lennox), Monica G. (Isaac) Ricard. He is also survived by his two brothers, Eolus Wayne Anderson of Sacramento, Calif., and Gregory Anderson (Beverly) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and his grandchildren Kamaya Haviland Browning, Hailey Sarai Browning, Jaquan Lee Anderson, Siara Leesha Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Akariyah Nicole-Lee Anderson, Norrell Alan Anderson and Lennox Lee Leron Superville.
He was preceded in death by his mother Minnie Ruth Anderson, stepfather Eolus “Andy” Anderson; and maternal grandmother Idella (Matthew) Jackson.
Services were 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond with interment at Wichita Park Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. Cards of condolences can be sent to Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
