EDMOND —
Lorraine Ruth Scheer, 79, of Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter of Wilhelm and Linda (Holtzen) Eichmann, was born February 9, 1933, in Deshler, Neb. She passed away August 14, 2012 in Oklahoma City.
Lorraine obtained her R.N. degree from Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., in 1955. Over the years as a nurse, she worked in hospitals, as a school nurse, in doctors offices, and in a nursing home. After living many years in Nebraska, she moved in 1972 to Torrington, Wy., where she lived until 2004 when she moved to Oklahoma City. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, had a deep faith in God and loved being with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Margaret Saathoff, Mildred Blumenthal and Bernice Reinke.
She will be forever remembered by her children, Beth Ford and husband Mark of Oklahoma City, Tom Scheer and wife Angela of Murphy, Texas, Bob Scheer and wife Karla of Germantown, Ill., and grandchildren, Amy and Chris Hill, Katrina and Chad Hall, Kelsi, Kati, Keaton and Kyler Scheer, and Anna Scheer; great-granddaughter Olivia Hall, brother Delmar Eichman and wife Florence of Edgar, Neb.; and sister Eileen Stych of Bruning, Neb.
The family wishes to recognize the kind and loving care provided by the staff of Concordia Life Care Community, and Good Shepherd Hospice, Karen and Mabel.
Services celebrating Lorraine’s life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Crawford Family Funeral Service of Edmond.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran School, 3600 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
