Bobby Lester Randall

EDMOND —     Bobby Lester Randall, 80, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Haysville, Kan., went to be with his Lord on March 1, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Bob was born July 12, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the first of seven children of Lester Henry and Marie McMahan Randall, and grew up in Fairfax, Okla., where he graduated from high school.

    Bob was a member of the Army National Guard for three years.  He married Barbara Lucille Brock of Burbank, Okla. on June 26, 1954, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this summer. He spent 22 years with Kewanee and Gulf Oil Companies.  He retired from Chevron Oil Company in 1987, as a safety and accident prevention representative. 

    Bob was a “Mr. Fix It” man and loved to do woodworking.  After retirement, he and Barbara participated in craft shows as B & B Crafts.  He was an avid sportsman and loved bowling, boating, camping, fishing, and hunting.  Bob was a 17-year survivor of cancer and was a member of the Oklahoma City Ostomy group.  Through that membership, he was able to help and encourage other ostomates.  He had just finished the LIVESTRONG program at the Edmond YWCA.  Bob enjoyed RV-ing with his Frontier Sams group, and enjoyed membership in the Teacup Chains Square Dance Club. 

    His most important membership was the Quail Springs Baptist Church, where he actively attended the very caring Challengers Sunday School Class.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Marie Randall; a sister, Allene Randall; a brother-in-law, Danny Laird, and grandson, Brock Randall.

    Bob is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Bobby and Sue Randall of Argonia, Kan., Steve and Becky Randall of Wichita, Kan., Teri and Perry  Barber of Raleigh, N.C., Rick and Susan Randall of Haysville, Kan.,  and Scott and Lori Randall of Edmond;  13 grandchildren, including Eric Randall and Holly Randall of Edmond; nine great-grandchildren, and siblings Arthur and Barbara Randall of Tulsa, Okla., Charles and Mary Randall of Pawhuska, Okla., David and Trish Randall of Tyro, Kan., Judy and Dennis Nevius of Edmond, and Jerri Laird of Bartlesville, Okla.  

    A come-and-go reception and visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.

    Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Quail Springs Baptist Church.

    In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation be made to stem cell research at Baptist Church Building Fund.  When donating to stem cell research, please be sure to specify the gift go towards Stem Cell Research and that the gift is given In Memory of Bob Randall.
