Loretta Anne Pheiff

EDMOND —     Loretta Anne Pheiff, 57, of Edmond, Okla., passed away peacefully Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Atlanta, Ga., with family by her side, after a courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease. She was born to Anna Rich Pheiff of Edmond, Okla., and the late Lt.Col Robert Pheiff.

    Loretta is survived by her children, Sarah Thomas-Taylor of Atlanta, Ga., and David Thomas and John Thomas both of Littleton, Colo. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Suzanne Pippins of Tampa, Fla.

    Loretta touched many lives while serving as a math and social studies teacher at Central Middle School for 19 years until her recent, honored retirement.  She was distinguished in 2009 as Teacher of the Year.

    Her love for family, friends, students, colleagues and animals will always be with those who survived her. Her infectious laugh and stories will always be remembered and cherished and she will always be with those who knew her.

    The memorial service will be 1 p.m.  Saturday, December 14, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond.   

    The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Bella Foundation or ALS Association.
