Mary Coulson

EDMOND —     Mary Coulson, 89, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday evening, November 16, 2013. She was born in Panhandle, Texas on June, 16, 1924 to William Davidson and Dove (Davis) Davidson, who later married Jacques “Pop” Chauveaux. Mary was the youngest, and last surviving, of seven children.

Mary was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She loved just about everyone and tried to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Mary loved her husband, children and family and loved doing things for them. She was also active in many churches over the years as the family moved from place to place with her husband Carroll’s work as a petroleum engineer and manager.

In addition to several places in the Midwest, Mary and Carroll lived in Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, and Aberdeen, Scotland. Wherever she went, Mary was loved by almost everyone because of her loving, cheerful attitude. Many people said, “Mary is the sweetest person I have ever known.”

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll; her son, Richard E. Coulson and her daughter, Patti (Coulson) Kite.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Sue Manyik and husband Richard of Littleton, Colo., granddaughter, Peggy (Kevin) Erickson, grandson, Dennis Manyik, grandson, Michael (Teresa) Manyik, and granddaughter, Wendy (David) Cooper, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Deal Coulson of Edmond, Okla., granddaughter, Jana B. (Jim) Lampe and their three children, granddaughter, Mary C. Coulson James (Curtis) of Atlanta, Ga., and their daughter, and grandson, Dr. Douglas M. Coulson of Pittsburg, Pa.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 22, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10100 Ridgeview Dr., Oklahoma City, OK. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. To share a memory or condolence, visit
