EDMOND —
Doris June Brockmann, 70, of Edmond, Okla., went to be with the Lord February 1, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born June 21, 1941 in Jamaica, N.Y., to Charles and Dorothy Baier.
Doris lived a life worth imitating, and was continuously looking for ways to serve others. Simply put, she was selfless. Her compassion and caring nature helped her to succeed in her profession as a school and camp nurse.
Doris treasured and encouraged her friends, spending countless hours on the phone maintaining her relationships. Planning trips and traveling were her passions. Her refrigerator is covered with magnets from countless destinations. After living 30 years in South Florida, she relocated to Edmond to be closer to her family. She was a woman of strong faith, and passed that faith on to her children.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by daughter Karen Stillwell and husband Matt; daughter Diane Edwards and fiance James Lloyd; son Ken Brockmann and wife Heather; brother Rev. Dr. Charles H. Baier and wife Sharyn; and grandsons Christopher and Jonathan Stillwell. She also leaves behind niece Cheryl Elliman and husband Peter; nephew Joel Baier; great-niece Daphne; and cousin Elaine Farquhar and husband Edward.
Services celebrating the life of Doris will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Crawford Family Funeral Service in Edmond with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
