Bobbie Ann Pearson

EDMOND —     Bobbie Ann Pearson, 59, passed away April 8, 2014. She was born October 3, 1954 in Boise City, Okla., to Bob and Charlene Spence.

    Bobbie married Harold Pearson while attending Edmond Memorial High School and later settled in Guthrie to raise their three boys. Bobbie’s love for her boys was evident in all she did. It was not until her boys were married with children of their own that Bobbie fulfilled her life-long dream to be a teacher. She graduated from Langston University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and was working toward her Master’s at the University of Central Oklahoma. Bobbie was a well-loved first year teacher at the Guthrie Head Start.

    Bobbie is preceded in death by her father and first husband. She is survived by her mother; her second husband David Umbarger; three boys, Buckley Pearson and wife Angela, Jessey Pearson and wife Julie, and Heath Pearson and wife Dyana; her step-children David Umbarger Jr. and wife April, and Rosalie Hecksherand husband Kevin; 13 grandchildren; her brothers and their families, and a host of other family and friends.

    Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Summit View Cemetery with Brother Dan Vreeland officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

    Visitation will be 1:30 – 8 p.m. Sunday.
