EDMOND —
Opal Juanita Bowers, 86, of Edmond, Okla., was born November 23, 1926 in Prentice, Wisc. She died February 16, 2013.
She and her husband George have lived in Edmond for seven years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sandra, and siblings Dolores Havell and Neil Moe.
She is survived by her husband George Bowers; her children and their spouses, Barbara Bowers and husband Douglas Olson of Orono, Minn., Betty Bowers and husband Barry Rockler of Edmond, Nancy and Rick Wainwright of Denver, Colo., and Richard Bowers of Edmond; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Whitney Kerr and husband John of Edmond and Kendall Rockler and husband Jamey Handorf of Tampa, Fla.
Opal was a member of the American Legion and served as president of the auxiliary.
She leaves a great legacy of love and generosity. The world has lost a gem but God has gained an angel.
A memorial service will be held in Minneapolis at a date as yet to be determined.
