David Breece left his home in Tulsa, Okla., on Monday, February 3, 2014, to be with his Lord.
Born in Tulsa to Uart and Clara Jo Breece, he was raised outside of Pawhuska, Okla. until junior high school, where he and his four brothers played on 80 acres. He spent his junior high school years in Edmond, Okla., where he made many beloved friends.
His father was promoted to sales manager of O’Bannon Pipe and Supply, which took David to Tulsa, where he graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School.
David was a great wrestler and was the Oklahoma State Champion at 123 pounds his senior year of high school. He attended the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship for a couple of years and then transferred to The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill on a wrestling scholarship and graduated there with a BS Degree in History.
Dave was an entertainer extraordinaire, playing his guitar and singing for a lifetime and a living. He wrote many songs over the years. He opened concerts for Diane Warwick and Ray Stevens, but mainly played in nightclubs in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He also substitute taught at high schools around the Tulsa area. He loved to fish and hang out with his brothers.
David was preceded in death by his father, Uart James Breece and his mother, Clara Jo Breece.
He is survived by his four brothers and their families, James and Cathy Breece, Brittany and James Jr. of Coweta, and Melissa and Andy Nelms; Gary and Susie Breece of Enid, Lindsay and Barrett Hall, Macey and Austin Fitzgerald, and Callie and Sam Mowrey; Stephen and Page Breece, Joshua and Elizabeth Breece of Edmond, and Mark, John, and Alexa Breece of Oolagah, as well as five great-nieces.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, OK.
David, we love you, we will miss you, and we know you are entertaining everyone in Heaven with a happy heart.
