EDMOND —
Jeanne Marie Zimmer, 58, formerly of Edmond, Okla., went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2012, in Orange Park, Fla., surrounded by her family.
Jeanne was born August 10, 1953, in Beech Grove, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Skinner.
Jeanne moved to Tampa, Fla. with her family during her high school years. After a number of moves she relocated to Edmond, in 1989, with her husband Michael and daughter Lauren. Their son Sam was born shortly after. The family enjoyed many happy years in Edmond, each of them forming lasting friendships. Jeanne and Michael moved to Fleming Island, Fla., in 2007 and once again became part of a loving group of family and friends.
Jeanne was prededed in death by her father Robert Skinner; brother Jerry Skinner; a nephew and a niece.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Zimmer; daughter Lauren Selking and husband Mark; son Samuel Zimmer; her mother, Elizabeth Skinner; in-laws, Herbert and Ruth Zimmer; four sisters, Judy Brubeck and husband Dennis, Kay Mergott, Janet Skinner and Karen Reid and husband Mike; brother, Robert Skinner and wife Michele; three brothers-in-law, Jay Zimmer and wife Rochelle, Hal Zimmer and wife Jane, and David Zimmer and wife Joanne; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
A Mass in celebration for the life of Jeanne Marie Zimmer, will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A guestbook may be signed at jacksonvillememorygardens.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Speedway Children’s Charities,Texas Chapter, in honor of Jeanne Zimmer.
