EDMOND —     J.B. (Jimmy Bryan) Chase, 76, formerly of Edmond, Okla., died Sunday, November 24, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio of complications from bladder cancer.

    He was born September 13, 1936  in Elk City, Okla., and was a graduate of Edmond High School.  He fell in love with broadcasting as a teenager, and hosted an early television dance program, “The Malt Shop,” on KOCO-TV in 1954.  He married his high school sweetheart, Helen in 1955.   In 1972, they moved their family to Cincinnati, where he began his 37-year career with WCPO-TV.

    He is remembered for his commitment to family and service to the community.

    J.B. is survived by Helen, his wife of 57 years; daughter Barbara Bowers (Blaine); son Jim Chase (Grace Malilay); six grandchildren, Sasha, Sara and Jack Bowers, and Olivia, Leah and Jovito Chase; four great grandchildren; sister Joy Haight (Allen) of Montgomery, Texas; and brother Cleon Chase of Berkley, Michigan.

    A memorial will be 1 p.m.  Saturday, January 26, 2013, in the Gotcher Room of the Gaylord University Center at Oklahoma Christian University, 2501 E. Memorial Rd., Edmond, 73013.
