EDMOND —
Lyle Howard Whitworth, 77, was born December 6, 1935 in Somerset, Ky. and passed away January 22, 2013 in Edmond, Okla. He was a very loving husband to his dear wife Dee, who says he kept his promise to her.
Lyle loved caring for his horses, his buddy Tige, and any other animal that came along. He was a faithful servant of Jehovah for 43 years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyle had a smile and laugh that was contagious. He touched the hearts of all who met him and anyone who knew Lyle was a better person for it. It would be a hard stretch to find a more loving father, grandfather, and mentor.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, one grandson Bryan Akins, and recently one son Herman Saathoff.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 50 years Dee, son Steven Saathoff, daughter Anita Pierce, daughter Julie Furlong, son Tim Saathoff, son Jamie Whitworth, daughter Treasea Horton, daughter Shane Jones, and son Robert Whitworth; as well as numerous sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Lyle will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Kingdome Hall of Jehovah’s Witness under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
