EDMOND —
Claude J. Scoggins, Jr., 90, of Edmond, Okla., was born February 25, 1922 in Lindsay, Okla. to Claude J. and Madeline Scoggins.
Claude was a Petroleum Engineer by profession and a member of the 101st Airborne Association. He served in the United States Marine Corp, as well as the Canadian Army’s Essex Scottish Regiment and the Perth Regiment prior to the United States entry into WWII. He then joined the 101st Airborn division as a member of CC, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in England. He participated in the invasion of Normandy, the invasion of Holland and the “Battle of the Bulge”. He was awarded three purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. After the war he attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Claude loved his family and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Linda Scoggins of Edmond, his daughter Stephanie Scoggins, grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Phillip and Andrea Scoggins, grandson Steven Scoggins, great granddaughter, Hayden Scoggins, great grandson, Ryder Scoggins, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Claude is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Sue Scoggins, parents, Claude J. Scoggins Sr., and mother Madeline Scoggins.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday February 2, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
