EDMOND —
On Friday, February 1, 2013, Edna Irene Briggs Donnell, 72, left this world to begin her final journey home to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born September 24, 1940 in Parsons, Kan. to parents Harry and Helen Briggs. The family moved to Edmond, Okla. where her father worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. She was wed in 1960 to Donovan Ray Donnell, an Air Force reservist and life-long resident of Edmond.
Edna was a faithful wife and mother of two daughters, and spent the bulk of her life in the Waterloo community. She spent the last few years in Eufala, Okla. with Leroy Cowl. A delightful and loving woman, Edna had a wonderful smile and infectious laugh. She was greatly loved by all who knew her, and was affectionately often remembered as “Butch.”
She is preceded in death by her husband Donovan Ray Donnell, and a brother, Charles.
Edna is survived by her daughters Tamara Underwood of Guthrie, Okla. and Lisa Jorgensen of Mustang, Okla.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her sisters Louise and Estell.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
