EDMOND —     William Floyd Poplin, 87, of Edmond, Okla., was born December 11, 1925 in Oakdale, Ark., to James Poplin and Alta (East) Poplin.  He passed away May 2, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla. 

    Preceding him in death was his son, parents, two brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one granddaughter.

    He is survived by his spouse, Vera Poplin, of Edmond; his children, Michael Poplin (Jill) of Ruffin, S.C., Karen Wax (Bobby) of Snowflake, Ariz., and Kathy Morgan of Enid, Okla.; brother Howard Poplin of Enid; sisters, Margaret Lawrenz (Melvin) of Enid, Josephine Bond (Tom) of Woodward, Okla., and Ethel Jane Davis Buffalo of Enid; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. 

    Graveside service was 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Okla., under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
