EDMOND — Funeral services for Catalina “Katie” Dorotea Hernandez Black Holland, 79, of Edmond are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the New Covenant United Method Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Holland was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Miami, Ariz. She died Monday, Oct. 23, 2009, in Edmond.
Holland worked with the FAA and later with Enogex. At the age of 20, during the Korean War, she joined the Navy and became a member of the WAVES.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Guadalupe Hernandez (Treviso); her first husband, John Black; and her second husband, Ted Holland.
Survivors include her three children, daughter, Patricia “Patty” Colbert; and her two sons, J. Michael “Mike” Black and Steven “Steve” Black, all of Oklahoma City; and her extended family, her son, Tracy Holland and her daughter, Carla Stanfill, both of Edmond; and her daughters, Adonica Rutherford of Warr Acres, and Debbie Compton of Redondo Beach, Calif.
