Jay Fink

EDMOND —     Jay Fink, 56, of Edmond, Okla., passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, surrounded by the loving presence of his family and friends, ending his long battle with cancer.  He was born July 11, 1955 in Ponca City, Okla. to Jane Donahoo Fink and Jerry Fink.

In 1963, the family settled in Edmond, beginning a life long connection to this community. Jay built many lasting friendships through his school, Boy Scouts and Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church. He played football for Edmond High School, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma and pledged to Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

After college, Jay began a career in the oil field industry, which allowed him to travel all over the state of Oklahoma and the opportunity to visit many surrounding states. In 1993 he established a remodeling business  in Edmond and over the years built a reputation as an exceptional craftsman. The main and constant joy in his life was his three daughters who he loved dearly and to whom he was devoted.  Jay personified and exemplified the best meaning of “fatherhood.”

Jay is survived by his wife Annamaria, daughters Adrienne, Bianca and Gianna; and his brother John, wife Donna and their son Colin.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012  at Henderson Hill Baptist Church in Edmond, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A reception will follow the ceremony.

To honor Jay’s memory, the family  requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made instead to his beloved fraternity, Kappa Pi Chapter of Kappa Sigma. Jay loved his fraternity brothers. The spirit of goodness and brotherhood exemplified by this fraternity helped shape the man that Jay came to be. Gifts should be made out to the Jay Fink Memorial Fund and may be dropped off at any Bank of Oklahoma branch location or mailed to: the Jay Fink Memorial Fund; Attn: Mike Thrift, Kappa Sigma; 3408 N.W. 166th Court, Edmond, OK 73012
