EDMOND — Willa Mae (Strickland) Abercrombie passed away into Glory on Wednesday January 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 24, 1928 in Lamont, Okla. to Pauline and Edgar Strickland. Willa was a graduate of Crescent High School in 1946. She then graduated from Central State College in 1950 and took post graduate courses at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla.

She taught in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado where she and Ben taught and ranched in Lamar, Colo., before returning to Crescent in 1977. Willa taught school for over 30 years and continued to educate students by giving piano lessons and tutoring when she retired. She used her talent in music for the Lord, playing organ and piano in every church in which she was a member. She was an avid animal lover.
