EDMOND —
Robert “Rob” G. Fowlkes, Jr., 61, died Sunday, August 12, 2012. He was born August 5, 1951 at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Okla., to Robert G. Fowlkes, Sr. and Dorothy Fowlkes.
Rob was a perfectionist who always found a way to do the impossible, never did anything halfway and could not be still. He was a true outdoorsman; he loved to fish, hunt and work with his hands. Rob took great pride in being a driving instructor and craftsman of various sorts. His family said he was their protector, and his grandchildren knew all they had to do was ask and Grandpa would come through. He loved his family and friends fiercely and he will be missed by all.
Rob was preceded in death by his son Matthew Fowlkes; his parents, Robert G. Fowlkes, Sr. and Dorothy L. Fowlkes Little and his stepfather Benjamin F. Little.
Rob is survived by his wife Pat; his children, daughter Kristie Shenk and husband Gavin, and sons Josh Fowlkes and wife Melissa and Eric Fowlkes; and grandchildren, Kelsey Goebel, Kathryn and William Shenk, and Tyler and Ashley Hill and Caitlyn Fowlkes. Also left behind are his sisters Denise Johnson and husband Bruce and Lucy Moore and husband Phil; nephews Tony Dalla Rosa, Eric Moore and niece Jennie Leach, and many other family members.
Services to celebrate Rob’s life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, 610 N W 178th Street, Edmond. To leave online condolences please visit crawfordcares.com.
