Betty Jo Williams

EDMOND —     Betty Jo Williams passed from this life on earth to be with her Heavenly Father on October 14, 2012 after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was born in Tallapoosa, Ga. in 1933 then lived several years in West Texas, spent the next 45 years in Dallas and Irving Texas and her final years in Oklahoma City, Okla. near her son and his family.  Before retirement Betty worked for the late Dave Fox the founder of Fox & Jacobs Homes and then with Fox Investments.

    Betty is survived by her daughter Sherri Chamberlain and husband Jerry of Dallas, Texas, son Steve Collyar and wife Dana of Edmond, Okla., sister Nita Hines of Parump, Nev.; grandchildren: Jessica Collyar, Kevin Collyar, Tiffani Brooks, Joe Michael Chamberlain, Jerry Paul Chamberlain, Tomi Chamberlain, Michelle Chamberlain, and Michael Chamberlain and several great- grandchildren and many other beloved family members. Betty leaves behind many close friends including two special friends Louella Savage and Frank Baum of Dallas.

    Betty was preceded in death by her parents Evie and Royce Ledlow, and sister Shirley Woodruff.

    A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday October 19, 2012 at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, Okla.
