EDMOND —
Phil M. Romero, 65, passed away March 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born May 3, 1947 in Rochester, N.Y., to Louis and Lila Verno. When he was 14, his grandmother and step-grandfather adopted him and gave him the name of Romero. Phil served in the Navy from 1966-1970 and then went into Civil Service where he retired after 31 years of service. At the time of his death, he was working as the regional manager for Alder Foods out of Boston, Mass. He wanted to be every part of his “Grand-Blessings” lives and always looked forward to the sleep-over’s, movie nights, tailgate parties at On-Que and teaching them all about the game of golf. He loved to play golf, watch NASCAR and was a number one fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
Phil and his wife, Gail, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 45 years. He also has a son, Michael and daughter-in-law Laura, plus four perfect grand-blessings, Aaron, Anna, Emily and Andrew, and one brother Sam Romero of Las Vegas, Nev. This is not good-bye but one sweet day we will be reunited.
Services celebrating Phil’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Henderson Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Phil’s name to Ministries of Jesus at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, 1100 E. I35 Frontage Road, Edmond, OK, 73034.
Services are under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
