James Gordon Marion Cunningham, 86, of Edmond, Okla., left this world to be with his Lord on September 18, 2013. He was born May 28, 1927 to Ira and Frances Cunningham in Thrall, Kan.
Gordon and Ida were married April 5, 1947 in Wellington, Kan. They lived in Enid, Okla. for 25 years where Gordon was employed by Union Equity for 19 years. They moved to Edmond in 1971 and Gordon worked in the heat and air business until retiring. He served in World War II and Korea.
Gordon is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Ida Mae Cunningham.
Survivors include son Buddy and Carol Cunningham of Mesquite, Texas, son Mark Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter Marilyn and husband Rodney Vanderlinde of Luther, Okla., sister Myrtie Cline of Guthrie, Okla., sister Marie and Delbert Barnum of Oklahoma City, sister Merle and Paul Unruh of Enid, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Dad, you will be greatly missed, but will remain always in our hearts. You are loved so much by your family and many friends.
We give our deepest thanks to the staff at the Wellington Independent Living Center for the love and friendship that they gave Gordon this past year.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Good Shepherd Hospice.
