EDMOND —     John Dennis Rush Jr., 82, and his wife, Letha Floyace (Grimes) Rush, 81, of Edmond, Okla., together departed this life August 9, 2013 under hospice care and natural causes. John preceded his wife of 58 years, Floyace, in death by just a short time that evening.

    John Rush married Floyace Grimes on February 5, 1955, and they were blessed with two children.

    In July 1955, John and Floyace moved to Jackson, Miss. from Wichita Falls, Texas. There they made their home until 1988 when they moved to Temple, Okla. to be near Floyace’s parents due to the Grimes’ failing health. In 2002 the couple moved to Edmond to be closer to their children.

    They are survived by John’s son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathe Rush, of Edmond; and daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Tim McDaniel, of Bixby, Okla; four grandchildren, Calvin Rush, Connie Hensy and Cassi Rush, all of Edmond, and Savanah McDaniel, of Bixby; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Rush, Calvin Rush, Jr. and Andrew Rush – all of Carver, Mass.

    Visitation will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 13 followed by a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Walters, Okla.

    A funeral service for the couple will be 10 a.m. August 14 at the First Baptist Church in Temple, Okla., followed by committal in the Temple Cemetery.
