EDMOND — Thomas George Whittaker, 22, of Edmond, Okla., was born December 11, 1990 in Chickasha, Okla., to Robert and Melissa Whittaker. He died March 16, 2013.
Thomas grew up in Edmond and graduated in 2009 from Edmond Memorial High School where he participated on the academic team.
Thomas could be described as a renaissance man, and was truly gifted in so many areas of his life. He loved listening to music, found a passion for literature, and always enjoyed flipping through comic books. At a younger age, Thomas could typically be found honing his skills on the unicycle or skateboard.
He was currently a chemical engineering student at the University of Oklahoma where he was also working the in the OU Research Lab. Thomas’ unique and “perfect” laugh and encouraging hugs will be missed by his parents; his sister, Susanna Whittaker; two brothers, Jon and Geoffrey Whittaker; and his fiance, Taylor Tope.
A come-and-go visitation and reception will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
Services celebrating his life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22nd at Crossing Community Church, Oklahoma City, Okla., with burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
