EDMOND —
Don W. Bridwell, 70, passed away August 12, 2012 in Edmond, Okla. He was born December 21, 1941, in Lindsay, Okla., to John P. and Lorene Webb Bridwell.
After several different business endeavors, he began his career with Ditch Witch in 1968, which included franchise dealerships in Maryland and Indiana before coming back to Oklahoma. Don was a successful Ditch Witch salesman until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church and was a head usher for many years. His favorite pastimes were hunting, making spicy candy, and enjoying his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife Sherry, who he met in first grade; daughters Shelly and Dennis Judy of Pierceton, Ind., and Cyndy and Gary Provine, of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren: Rebekah Thomas, Kara Judy, Emilie Judy, Joshua Provine, Molli Provine, and Cooper Provine; and one great grandson, Ayden Thomas. In addition, Don is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nettie Fuller, his brother John Bridwell and his wife, Betty, and many other family and friends; especially nephew, Gary Bridwell, who was like a son to him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Connel.
Don’s kindness, smile, and outgoing personality will be missed. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none. You gave yourself, heart, mind, and body to your family and friends and we were blessed by your giving.
A reception will be 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, 610 NW 178th Street, Edmond.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. August 15, 2012, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, 1200 E. I-35 Frontage Road, Edmond, OK, under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service of Edmond.
