Beverly Ann Poston

EDMOND —     Beverly Ann Poston, 74,  passed away March 30, 2014. She was born August 31, 1939, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Garland and Ruby Gilbert.

    Beverly was a graduate of Frankfort Pilgrim Bible College and later received training to be a licensed practical nurse. She served the community of Bagdad, Ariz., as a nurse from 1968 to 1972.

    In 1972 she married Billy Odar Poston and moved to the city of Prescott, Farmington, N.M., Winslow, Ariz.; and finally settled in Mulhall, Okla. where she assumed the role of homemaker and mother.

    In 1992, Beverly returned to her home in Bagdad for a period and later moved to Edmond, Okla., where she settled among friends and family. Beverly was an active member of Edmond Road Baptist Church. She loved her church family, quilting, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

    Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Poston, sister Helen Seevers, and brother Paul Stanley Gilbert.

    She is survived by her sister Mary Swinson-Seier; her brothers William Gilbert and Craig Piker; daughter Kim Tripp; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other adopted grandchildren, loved family, and friends.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Smith Memorial Chapel, Guthrie with Pastor Chuck Munson officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
