EDMOND —
Gary Gene Drennon, 70, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Palatine, Ill. He was born May 26, 1942 in Edmond, Okla., the oldest of three children of Gene and Ola (Pritchett) Drennon.
Gary was raised and educated in Edmond, and graduated from Edmond High School and Central State University. Gary worked for Hughes Construction Company in Edmond during his high school years and later worked at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and Chicago Medical Center prior to retiring from Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, Ill., after 25 years.
On September 2, 1962 Gary married the love of his life, Vicki Starks from Eau Claire, Wis.; they were married 49 years prior to his death. They have one child, Eric Drennon.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lee Drennon and niece, Deborah Lee Reed Smith.
He is survived by his wife Vicki; son Eric Drennon and his wife Rena; two granddaughters, Mika and Naomi; his mother, Ola Pritchett Drennon; sisters, Linda Drennon Vela and Sandra Drennon Wells, and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Palatine, under the direction of Alhlgrim Family Funeral Services, Palatine.
