EDMOND —
Evalyn Tutor Cox, 91, of Edmond, Okla., was born July 5, 1921, in Wynnewood, Okla., to Samie and Golda Tutor. She passed away July 25, 2012.
Evalyn’s hobbies included knitting and ceramics. She was an avid reader and even after becoming blind, she listened to books on tape. Evalyn was a lifetime learner and a lover of National Public Radio. She also was a huge basketball and tennis fan, and resided in Edmond for the last 41 years.
Evalyn was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Budd” Cox and her son Sam Cox.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Brandenberger of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Martha Cox of Enid, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Judy Tutor of Edmond, six grandchildren, three great-grandchilren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2012 at Central Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
Donations may be made to the Oklahoma Library for the Blind or the National Public Radio in Evalyn’s Memory.
