Lucille Fay Murray

EDMOND —     Lucille Fay Murray, 79, entered into eternal peace early Friday morning, November 1, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla., following a brief illness. Lucille was born December 16, 1933, to Earl and Opal Sloan and graduated from Aline High School in 1952 and Bethany Nazarene College in 1956.

    She blessed the lives of children through her teaching jobs for more than 30 years.

    She married Eugene Reeves following college and was widowed in 1959. She married Jack D. Murray on December 22, 1962. Together they enjoyed serving others with their gifts of visiting, food, and prayers for more than 50 years.

    Lucille was a lifelong church member, most recently at First Baptist Church in Edmond, Okla., where she enjoyed Sunday School and the messages and music each Sunday. Lucille was a kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eugene Reeves, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Sloan.

    She is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Lyndon Harms of Weather-ford, Okla., and Cheryl and John Byford of Edmond;  grandchildren, Landon Harms and wife Meghan of Weatherford; Garren Harms and wife Abby of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kelsey Chipman and husband Link of Elk City, Okla., Nathan Byford and wife Abbey of Fort Worth, Texas; and Collin Boyd of Edmond; brothers, Kenneth Sloan of Guthrie, and Eugene Sloan and wife Betty of Aline, Okla., great-granddaughter Lucy Faith Chipman, and was anxiously anticipating the birth of twin great granddaughters, Selah Kay and Hayes Eva Harms.

    A come-and-go visitation and reception will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, November 3, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, 610 NW 178th St. Edmond.

    Services celebrating Lucille’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday at Crawford Family Funeral Service with burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Chruch, 1300 SE 33rd St., Edmond, OK 73013.
