Thomas Roland Moorman

EDMOND —     Thomas Roland “Dick” Moorman, 88, of Jasper, Ind., formerly of Martinsville, Ind., slipped away Friday September 6, 2013, with his family by his side.

He graduated from Batesville High School in 1943 where he played center on the champion basketball team. He went into the Air Corps where he served as a B-17 bomber pilot until 1946. He played basketball while in the Air Corps and as a walk on for Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. He then married his first wife, Rita Weigel, who died at a young age in 1962 after bearing his first seven children. He married Sally Fitzgerald on July 20, 1963.

Dick was employed by Eli Lilly for 37 years during which time he was a district salesman, a district manager, and finally a department head in sales training.

Dick is also preceded in death by his oldest son, Joe Moorman.

Dick was passionate about his family, Catholic faith (he was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus,) countless friends, and his beloved golf. He was adored by his children and grandchildren and seemed to cast his spell on all who met him. He will be greatly missed.
