The Edmond Sun
Allen Wade Morgan, 65, of Edmond, Okla., was born January 10, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Raymond and Ann Morgan. He died in Oklahoma City on December 13, 2012.
Allen was a unique individual with a gruff exterior and a gentle creative soul. As a young man he was an artist and also served two years in Tunisia with the Peace Corps. It was these endeavors which helped shape his career path in home building and later in architecture. Before passing, Allen was a contract administrator for Architecture Design Group in Oklahoma City. Throughout his career he worked on several MAPS projects including the downtown library. He loved the state of Oklahoma and was honored to be a part of shaping its future.
Family was very important to Allen, whose heritage descended from the Chickasaw and Choctaw tribes. He often spent his time on the weekend with his family, playing crosswords and fetch with the dog. He could talk to you for hours about politics and current events, or use his sense of humor to tell you a story, even though you likely had heard it once or twice before.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda; three daughters: Rachel Morgan, Lara Maxwell and husband Jason, and Kathy Burns; four grandchildren: Nick Gonzalez, Amanda Gonzalez, Jack Maxwell, and Ava Maxwell; as well as two brothers, Phillip Morgan and wife Kate and Scott Morgan and wife Carole.
Service arrangements are currently pending under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Edmond.
Memorial donations may be made in Allen’s honor to the Peace Corps.
