EDMOND —
Sue Ann (Fulkerson) Sterling, 79, of Edmond, Okla., was born in Drumright, Okla., on March 4, 1933 to Albert and Lennie Bell Fulkerson, the youngest of 13 children. She passed away Jan. 15, 2013.
Sue graduated from Drumright High School in 1951 and then attended St. John’s Hospital School in Tulsa where she graduated in 1955.
In June of that year, she married Fred Sterling. During Fred’s service in the Navy, they moved to Hawaii where she worked as a nurse.
She continued nursing when they moved to the Philippines and when Fred retired to Oklahoma City. Sue was in charge of the emergency room at Deaconess Hospital and also worked at Presbyterian Hospital.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband Fred who passed away in 1975.
She is survived by two brothers- David Fulkerson of Brandon, Fla. and Daniel Fulkerson of Stillwater, Okla., and sister, Mary Cruzan formerly of Guymon, Okla. and currently of Oklahoma City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, at 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
