EDMOND —
David Jay Peters, 55, left this world on January 17, 2013. He was born June 23, 1958 in Purcell, Okla.
David lived in Edmond, Okla. most of his life and graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1976 where he enjoyed playing in the band. His parents were extremely proud of him when he became an Eagle Scout in his younger years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. He loved his entire family and friends dearly and would do anything for them. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Joann “Jo” Peters, his daughter April May Peters and her fiancé Brian Warner who helped with David’s constant care, a son David Arthur Peters and his fiancée Danielle Bowen and a step-daughter Cherie Burton all of Edmond. His is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Melva Peters Ferguson and Larry G. Ferguson of Carrollton, Texas, and his grandchildren Paige Marie Tyson, Dale Jay Peters-Hixon, Destiny Paris Peters, Tiffani Mason, Courtany Sanders, Maelrie Burton, Lynzee Burton, Addriana Warner, Tyler Warner and Taylor Warner.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Arthur “Pete” Peters and Maurine Tunstall Peters.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Santa Fe Presbyterian Church in Edmond.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Citizens National Bank of Edmond.
Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
