ENID, Okla. —
Autry Technology Center is ranked the state’s top technology center by the Journal Record for the third consecutive year.
The ranking was based on information provided by Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education and used enrollment data from the 2012-13 school year.
Data used included full-time classes, adult and career development and business and industry; fiscal year 2012 budget; adult tuition cost per class hour; number of employees; and positive placement results.
Autry was able to compete with the metropolitan technology centers thanks to the relationships within the community, with its 10 partner schools and local businesses and industry, said Jim Strate, Autry superintendent.
“This is a huge statement on how successful partnerships can be with your local industry,” Strate said. “We rely heavily on our Executive Leadership Council and Advisory Committee members to guide us along the way.”
Autry had a 96 percent placement rate for last year’s graduates.
Autry has been a part of the Enid community since 1967 and is one of 29 CareerTech schools in Oklahoma. It offers more than 25 career programs and a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses and certifications for diverse career fields. Autry also offers services to businesses in need of training and development. Each year approximately 11,000 students come to Autry from all areas of business and industry.
Autry is located at 1201 W. Willow.
