The University of Central Oklahoma will celebrate the achievements of its new graduates at the spring 2008 commencement ceremonies set for Friday and Saturday at UCO’s Hamilton Field House.
This year’s spring ceremonies also will include fall 2007 graduates, whose ceremonies were canceled last semester due to inclement weather.
The university will hold five ceremonies, with more than 2,000 students representing the university’s six colleges eligible to participate.
UCO President W. Roger Webb will confer degrees at each of the ceremonies, scheduled as follows:
• College of Education and Professional Studies — 3 p.m. Friday;
• College of Math and Science and College of Arts, Media & Design — 7 p.m. Friday;
• College of Business Administration — 10 a.m. Saturday;
• College of Liberal Arts — 2 p.m. Saturday;
• Joe Jackson College of Graduate Studies — 7 p.m. Saturday.
The ceremonies will be available via webcast for those who cannot attend the events.
Each online webcast of UCO’s commencement ceremonies will begin 5 to 7 minutes before each one, and will be accessible online on UCO’s homepage under current news and events at www.ucok.edu, as well as at www.ucok.edu/commencement_live.htm.
Graduates and guests attending the ceremonies are asked to arrive early since Hamilton Field House consistently fills to capacity during the ceremonies.
Parking spaces located alongside the Field House will be reserved for the elderly and for those with disabilities.
All campus parking spaces, except for those in the lot adjacent to the west side of the Field House, will be open during the commencement events.
Guests attending ceremonies without tickets will be admitted only on a space-available basis following the National Anthem.
