Oklahoma A+ Schools® will recognize the state’s Top 20 Sparks of Creativity at 3:30 p.m. today at the Oklahoma State Capitol as a part of its annual event celebrating efforts to nurture creativity, innovation and critical thinking in every learner.
Sponsored by Creative Oklahoma, Inc., and funded through a donation from SandRidge Energy, the Top 20 Sparks of Creativity include state educators, students and community members and will receive a trophy and $100 check.
The list of Edmond Top 20 Sparks of Creativity and projects include Alissa Crawford, Oklahoma A+ Schools, Project: Introducing Techno Drum Dancing; Michael Sokoff, Community — Edmond, Talk to the elbow — communicating with an autistic child; Lacye Swilley-Russell, Oklahoma Christian University, Project: Figure drawing students create life-size drawings of themselves to study and analyze anatomy; Shari Villani, University of Central Oklahoma, Project: Philosophical Foundations — making philosophical theory relevant in an Adult Education program.
The event also will include an introduction of the nine new schools to the Oklahoma A+ Schools® network, plus performances from current A+ schools.
