Junior ROTC students sell holiday evergreens

EDMOND Junior ROTC students are ready to help Edmond residents prepare for the holidays.

Edmond’s Junior ROTC program at North is offering freshly cut evergreen decorations available from the Pacific Northwest.

“This is the 21st year to offer the greenery,” said ROTC parent Dana Tilford.

“In the past the Junior ROTC program has offered its students and friends of students the finest freshly cut evergreen decorations available from the Pacific Northwest,” Tilford said. “This year though, the students hope to extend their business to a larger clientele, the citizens of Edmond.”

The annual fundraiser benefits the 182 high school students from across Edmond who participate in the JROTC program at Edmond North.

One-third of the profits come straight back to the program, which allows for technology upgrades and for the students to be able to participate in activities throughout the year.

Not only do the students learn the value of the dollar, but they also gain important skills, as well.

“We believe the students benefit by learning about responsibility while selling and delivering a high-quality product to the community,” said Sgt. Bill Deal, an aerospace science teacher.

The products arrive in perfect time to allow families to decorate their homes for the holiday season.

There is something for everyone with this fundraiser. There are a variety of wreaths, centerpieces, gift baskets and garlands, with prices ranging from $32 up to $76. These items are shipped direct from Washington State to the address you provide and must be prepaid in advance, and all products are unconditionally guaranteed.

The fundraiser will take place between Sept. 22 and Oct. 22, with all products delivered by the first week of December.
