The University of Central Oklahoma’s Department of Housing and Housing Activities Council recently raised more than $4,200 at the university’s first “Rock the Block” event to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation earlier this month.
More than 700 people joined UCO and Edmond community members and volunteers to attend the event Oct. 2, contributing generous donations and purchasing all-access passes and T-shirts to raise funds for the cause.
“Rock the Block” featured numerous vendors, games activities, as well as music performances from bands The Classic Crime of Seattle and Set Forth of Denver.
Funds from the benefit event will go directly to cancer research and survivorship support networks across the country.
