OKLA. CITY —
Children will converge at the State Capitol on Wednesday in celebration of Early Childhood Day. As part of Oklahoma’s official Week of the Young Child, this day is meant to demonstrate the types of quality opportunities taking place at early childhood centers across the state. Children from the Educare and Oklahoma City Community College early childhood education programs will be in attendance.
Children will participate in an interactive, model classroom and hear official remarks of a Week of the Young Child proclamation. Oklahoma Champions for Early Opportunities and Smart Start Oklahoma have partnered with several organizations to bring this event to the Capitol. Each child will take home a copy of Eric Carle’s “A Grouchy Ladybug,” provided by Junior League of Oklahoma City.
