Bishop McGuinness benefit auction Feb. 8

OKLA. CITY — The 28th annual Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School benefit dinner auction, “The Greatest Auction on Earth,” is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. The event will be held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Reservation tickets are $100 per person and must be 21 to attend. Reservations are required and seating will be limited. There will be a raffle drawing for a $10,000 grand prize. Second prize is $500 with third being $250.

Raffle tickets are $20 each and proceeds benefit the Bishop McGuinness Endowment Fund and capital projects. The circus-themed evening includes dinner catered by Ned’s Catering, silent and live auctions with more than 100 items and entertainment by The Avenue, Mom-O the Clown and juggler Michael King.

Attire is festive dress as co-chairmen of the event are LeAnn Lienhard and Jayne Clarke. There will be silent auction tables closing at different times ensued by the live auction.

Throughout the evening, there are various audience participation contests. In “Lady Luck” guests purchase a card for $100 out of a deck of 52 cards hoping to win a trip to Las Vegas. The holder of the last card to be drawn is the “lucky” winner. In “heads or tails,” sponsored by the Bishop McGuinness Alumni Association, participants purchase a $10 string of beads for a chance to win $500. Guests touch their hands to their head (or tail) at the flip of a coin. Losers sit down and the last person standing is the winner. The popular Sweet Shoppe will also be back with a variety of professional and homemade goodies.
