Teens interested in the arts can engage in service learning opportunities through the Teen Adivsory Council. As part of the Community Arts Program at the Arts Council, the Teen Advisory Committee is an arts education program. Members participate in art and leadership activities, visit art exhibits around the city, meet with local artists and Arts Council staff, and host their own exhibit.
The 2013-14 Teen Advisory Council members will begin their school year-long tenure at the Arts Council of Oklahoma City this September. The members are: Rachel Cloos and Caroline McKinnis from Classen School of Advanced Studies, Alyssa Torres from Harding Fine Arts Academy, Defne Altan from Casady, Sarah Varenhorst from Mustang High School, Brynna Arens from Western Heights, Molly Cromer, who attends home school and OSU-OKC; Lauren Craig, Lorri Compton, and Madison Kay from Edmond Santa Fe; Katie Leender from Harding Charter Preparatory High School, Zack Padgett, Ripley Park, Paige McIntosh, and Raquel Reed from Edmond North High School; Mary Maxwell from Heritage Hall, Isabel Stogner from Deer Creek High School, and Margaret Ross from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School.
