The Edmond Sun
Kevin Ralph of Edmond played the role of Tartuffe’s servant Laurent and the Second Officer of the King in “Tartuffe, or The Imposter,” which was presented over seven nights at Denison University’s Ace Morgan Theatre.
In Moliére’s classic comedy, the religious fraud Tartuffe has hoodwinked rich merchant Orgon and is poised to marry his host’s teenage daughter, to seduce his lovely wife and to take over his gullible patron’s fortune — unless someone stops him. Molière’s wicked satire, banned after its first performance in 1664, has been provoking worldwide laughter ever since.
Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential, liberal arts institution enrolling 2,100 full-time undergraduate students from all 50 states and dozens of foreign countries.
