City honors Arbor Day poster contest winners

EDMOND — As part of the City of Edmond’s annual Arbor Day celebrations, the winners of a competitive poster contest themed “Trees in Our Town” have their work on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through April 5 at the Edmond Historical Society & Museum.

The first place winners — a fifth-grader from each of the 16 elementary schools in Edmond Public Schools — includes: Ava Woolery of Centennial, Cole Brummer of Washington Irving, Jonathan Barbour of Cross Timbers, Hudson Brown of Northern Hills, Haley Clark of Will Rogers, Jadyn Neuschaefer of Angie Debo, Galadriel Mitchell of Charles Haskell, Lainey Kerr of Russell Dougherty, Teresa Carrion of Ida Freeman, Emma Green of West Field, Rena Go of John Ross, Alexandra Hibbard of Clegern, Rafe Smith of Chisholm, Kahlan Fuller of Sunset, Brooklyn Tillman of Orvis Risner and Luxy Binion of Frontier Elementary.

These students were honored by the Edmond City Council at its regular meeting last week.
